There are those rare few who have never switched from linen to cotton sheets. The first sheets were woven on narrow looms and carefully pieced together. Those sheets are still found in flea markets in perfect condition because linen lasts forever!
Linen has a different hand than cotton. It is cool in the summer and warmer in the winter. Linen has a better drape than cotton and conforms to the body.
Now that we are beginning to enjoy the wrinking of natural fibers as opposed to the smooth surfaces of polyester or chemically treated fabrics, linen sheets are enjoying a resurgence.
Linen sheets can still be found in certain iconic hotels, such as Claridge's in London.
