Bhuli celebrates natural silk at its most expressive. Hand loomed in northeastern India near Bihar, its richly irregular surface is defined by pronounced slubs, shifting texture and remarkable variations in the natural color of the silk.
Because the silk remains undyed, variations in the fiber and its harvest become part of the textile itself. Warm ivory, flax and deeper earthy tones move across the cloth, while the irregular weave reveals the hand of the artisan and makes every piece subtly unique.
Textiles of this tradition have been hand loomed in the region for centuries, with designs that continue to be used for both clothing and the home. Bhuli brings that enduring textile tradition to the bed in a particularly tactile and expressive natural silk.
