Brocade Coverlets

Dating back to the Middle Ages, brocades were one of the few luxury fabrics worn by nobility throughout China, Greece, Japan, Korea and Byzantium, where they were originally woven of silk embellished with real silver and gold threads.
From here brocades spread to Europe and became wildly popular in Italy during the Renaissance. The name brocade comes from the Italian broccato meaning "embossed cloth". These richly decorative fabrics are now woven on a jacquard loom.

ANICHINI's collection of brocades speaks to this rich heritage,
taking its inspiration from the ancient textiles of the Middle East and Italy.
