Our Tashi blankets are made from handspun 100% yak wool which is handwoven in a herringbone weave. Exceptionally luxurious, supple, and durable, yak wool is as soft as cashmere and warmer than merino wool.
The coat of the Yak is composed of 3 layers - the top two coarse layers are used to produce fabric for tents for nomadic tribes and also rope. Beneath these is the soft "down" underlayer that is used to create textiles of unbelievable softness and warmth.
The Tashi collection celebrates the rare and raw beauty of this natural fiber. The two colors we offer reflect the natural color of the Yak's coat. They are undyed and completely natural. The purest of luxury textiles.
The Tashi blankets are finished with a cashmere binding.

"I couldn’t be more pleased. I use cashmere as wool is too rough for me and this is the softest, most luxurious I’ve ever seen. I love the color as well as the feel." - Elizabeth, who purchased our Tenzin Throw In Ponderosa Pine
